Checking Out Careers Paths with Chaz was created to help students discover occupations that might be a good fit for them among the hundreds of occupations that exist out in the current labor market. By using the information that students gather about their interests, their learning style and their strong skill sets and using detailed information about specific jobs found on the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics website , students can see if certain occupations would be a good match for them. Students can use Checking Out Careers Paths with Chaz again and again throughout high school and beyond to
explore other possible occupations.
Meet my partner, Chaz.
My partner, Chaz, will guide each student through all the steps and activities. In addition, there are detailed instructions on what materials students will need and how to move through each part of the program. The students will gather and record valuable information about themselves and occupations that will help them develop a career plan for when they graduate from their high school.

Testimonials from people that piloted the Checking Out Careers with Chaz program.
I used this career path program in my speech class (high school) to learn about myself and some career choices that I might like when I graduate.
— Gerado E. (High school student)
At my building the students worked on Checking Out Careers with Chaz during their English classes as part of their research unit. It gave them specific information about themselves to help lead them to possible careers.

My high school students with special needs liked this program. It was easy to use. They worked on parts of it by themselves and then we talked about what they discovered as a whole class. It gave me good information for their transition plans on my students IEPs.
A teacher told me about Checking Out Career Paths with Chaz when my son was struggling in high school. He was unhappy with his classes and seemed lost. I worked with him using this program to help him search out several occupations that are good matches for him. He seems like he has a direction now and seems happier.
